July 2026

Dear St. B’s,

Happy Summer! I hope you are enjoying longer days and more ease in your schedule. Although the vestry did not meet this month, I am excited to offer you a July update.

A quick financial note: while June giving was a bit lower, the year so far remains healthy. Giving is running 7% ahead of last year and close to our budget target. Our expenses so far are under budget, and our net position is ahead of both budget and where we were a year ago. Pledges are coming in ahead of pace with 55% received through the halfway point of the year and nearly all pledging households have donated. Thank you for your faithful and generous support of St. Bartholomew's!

I had the pleasure of attending the Justice Ministry Leadership Team meeting this month. What a wonderful group of faithful parishioners with a heart for carrying out our parish’s call to love our neighbors in need and correct systems of injustice. I want to be sure and put a few things on your radar. Join us in our second year of partnership with MLK, Jr Magnet Middle School at Head Campus. There are several ways that you can support students and teachers HERE.

Please Save the Date for the event, A Way Forward: Hope in Uncertain Times, August 28th - 30th in Nashville. A group from St. B’s is planning to attend, and we would love to have you join us. Watch your email for registration information. In the meantime, learn more about the event HERE or contact Leslie McGilberry at lmcgilberry@stbs.net .

Justice Ministries invites you to a screening and discussion of the documentary Jesus Was A Migrant on Tuesday, August 18th at 6:00 PM. The co-sponsored event with St. B’s will take place at Christ Church Cathedral . The documentary is only 35 minutes long and will be followed by a discussion. Light refreshments, free parking and childcare are all provided. We will also try to facilitate carpooling from St Bs. for those who need a ride. Please join me in participating in these upcoming opportunities to engage in the ongoing opportunities offered by our Justice Ministry!

Please note I have a correction from June’s update. I accidentally left David West off the Five Year Strategic Planning Committee’s list of members. As a member of St. B’s for many years, David brings a wealth of institutional knowledge to this committee. He is also a strategic thinker, has a passion for numbers and data, and a deep knowledge and understanding of our finances. We are grateful for his willingness to serve!

As always, please reach out with any questions. Your vestry is grateful to serve and we love hearing from you.

Warmly,

Elizabeth Nunley

Senior Warden
