With Gratitude for Our Vestry Members

As we give thanks for another season of faithful leadership at St. Bartholomew’s, we want to pause and offer our deep appreciation to four members of our vestry whose service has shaped our life together in meaningful ways. Their leadership, wisdom, and care have been gifts to our community, and we are grateful for the time, energy, and love they have shared.

Ryon

Ryon has been the embodiment of steady, servant leadership. Kind, wise, and quietly affirming, he has a remarkable ability to create space for others—to listen deeply and ensure every voice is heard. Serving as Senior Warden while also contributing to the Facilities Committee is no small task, yet Ryon carried these responsibilities with calm purpose and grace, making demanding work look effortless.

His leadership has been balanced, inclusive, and consistent, even in moments of challenge. We are deeply thankful for his humor, kindness, and unwavering dedication to St. B’s, especially over the past three years. Ryon’s steady presence has brought clarity and confidence to our shared work, and we wish him much-deserved rest in the season ahead.

David

David brought courage, clarity, and deep love to the vestry. Grounded in prayer and faith, he spoke honestly and thoughtfully—often giving voice to what others were thinking, without creating conflict or unease. His firm convictions, paired with an open heart, helped guide conversations with wisdom and care.

We are grateful for David’s institutional knowledge, his willingness to share our history, and his readiness to speak truth even when it was not universally agreed upon. His honesty, candor, and faithfulness to God and this church have been a blessing. David’s presence reminded us where we have been and helped us discern where we might be called to go next.

Rose Wynne

Rose Wynne’s time on the vestry was marked by insight, courage, and generosity of spirit. Stepping in mid-term, she quickly got up to speed and brought a strong grasp of the issues at hand. She asked the hard questions, raised critical concerns with clarity, and helped surface what needed deeper attention.

Earnest, collaborative, and always ready to jump in, Rose Wynne offered her many gifts—articulation, organization, humility, kindness, and focus—for the good of the whole. She consistently showed up with full effort and care, and her encouragement and support have meant so much to many. Her thoughtful counsel and keen insight will be deeply missed.

Don Paul

Don Paul exemplified quiet strength and steady wisdom. Loyal, diplomatic, and thoughtful, he led not by volume but by presence. When he chose to speak, his words reflected careful planning, deep reasoning, and genuine care—and people listened.

He navigated challenging conversations with warmth, grace, and honesty, helping build bridges rather than division. Though his contributions were often behind the scenes, they were deeply impactful. We are grateful for Don Paul’s faithful service over the past three years and for the calm, grounding presence he brought to the vestry and to St. B’s.

To Ryon, David, Rose Wynne, and Don Paul: thank you for your faithful service, your leadership, and your love for this community. St. Bartholomew’s is stronger because of you, and we are deeply grateful.
