St. B’s Children’s Nativity Presentation 2025

Nativity Presentation: Sunday, December 14 – 10:00–10:30 a.m. in the Gym

Rehearsal Day — Saturday, December 13

10:00 – 12:00pm (Gym)

Do we have to attend the rehearsal? Where and when is it, and do I need to stay?

Please make every effort to ensure your child attends rehearsal, even if you need to arrive late or leave early. It greatly helps all children feel comfortable and confident on Sunday.

Parents must stay to help their child check in, locate and put on their costume, and settle in with their group. After your child is dressed and seated with their group leader, you may stay to help in the gym or head over to assist with Spruce Up the Sanctuary, which is happening at the same time. (see adult volunteer needs below)

Rehearsal Arrival:

  • Arrive between 9:50–10:00 a.m. and check in directly in the Gym.

  • Help your child find their designated costume area and assist them in putting on their costume.

  • Once dressed, children will sit with their fellow performers in their assigned groups.

  • Parents may remain to assist or help with Spruce Up the Sanctuary.

What should my child bring?

  • Just comfy clothes.

  • Please take a bathroom break before arriving.

  • We will provide all costumes and materials needed.

Nativity Presentation Day — Sunday, December 14

When should children arrive on Sunday?

  • The simplest option is to attend the 8:30 service. During the service, children will follow the cross out and go to the gym to dress in costume.

  • Parents are welcome to come and assist if they think it would be helpful to their child

  • If not attending the 8:30 service, please arrive in the gym by 9:15 a.m.

Pre-Performance Photo — 9:45 a.m.

  • We will take the all-cast photo at 9:45 a.m., immediately before the presentation begins. Please ensure your child is fully dressed and in the gym on time.

Where is the Nativity Presentation?

  • The presentation takes place in the Gym, arranged in the round.

  • Lights dim at 9:55, and the performance begins promptly at 10:00 a.m.

Can we invite family and friends?

  • Yes—everyone is warmly welcome.

Can children join at the last minute?

  • Yes! Parents may help their child select a costume (angel, sheep, shepherd) and join a group.

What happens after the presentation?

  • After the performance, please help your child return their costume to the labeled tables before leaving the gym. Costumes should be right-side out and neatly folded.

  • It would be great if you could also assist in stacking chairs at the conclusion of the performance.

Parent Volunteers Needed

We would love assistance with:

  • Leading small groups of children through rehearsal and performance. This includes sitting with a group (e.g. Sheep/Angels etc.), reading along with the script, and cueing them to take a specific action listed in the script

  • Freshening up props and costumes

  • Helping to keep the children focused and attentive

  • Preparing Christmas Eve activity kits for children

  • Helping with Spruce Up the Sanctuary on Saturday morning (click here to register)
