Breakthrough T1D Walk

The Wirdzek Family is participating in the Breakthrough T1D Walk to transform life for the millions of people facing type 1 diabetes (T1D). Our lives were forever changed on January 30th when our son was diagnosed with T1D. The walk will take place on Sunday, October 4th, 2026 at 2:00 PM at Shelby Park.

Breakthrough T1D is the leading global T1D research and advocacy organization, helping make everyday life with T1D better while driving toward cures. But they can't do it without our support.

What is type 1 diabetes (T1D):
