A free 3-day community event offering hope, community, and actionable next steps, and a counter-voice to white Christian nationalism

A Way Forward: Hope in Uncertain Times is a gathering for all who care about justice and community, seeking to reclaim the true message of Jesus as a counter-voice to white Christian nationalism. Through inspiring speakers and meaningful breakout sessions, attendees will leave more hopeful, more deeply connected to community, and more confident in taking meaningful action.

The conference begins Friday evening, August 28th, with a presentation by Dr. Jemar Tisby, moderated by Rev. Dr. Amy Steele.

Saturday, August 29th, will include a panelist discussion in the morning with community leaders Rep. Justin J. Pearson, Rev. Kelli X, and Terry O'Neill, moderated by Dr. Tisby. These local faith leaders and representatives will tap into Nashville’s rich history of simple, faithful folk who pursued justice to help point a way forward into God’s purposeful and preferred future.

The panelist discussion will be followed by breakout sessions, led by pastors and local leaders doing the work of social justice, and lunch. You may pre-order a boxed lunch for $15 or bring your own.

After lunch, we will end the day with a conversation between Dr. Jemar Tisby and Shane Claiborne.

The conference will conclude on Sunday, August 30th, with a special worship service at the historic Gordon Memorial UMC with Dr. Jemar Tisby preaching. Gordon Memorial UMC is located at 2334 Herman St, Nashville, TN 37208.
