Music

Though music is only one component of worship, St. B's has long been known for excellence in blending traditional and modern styles for each service.

On any given Sunday morning, the loft might contain, an organist, choir, mic'd vocalists, a guitarist, pianist, drummer, bassist, violinist, flautist, trumpeter, piper, and an accordion. We believe worship unites us with God and with all believers across time and space. A glorious part of our tradition is that our liturgy is ever ancient and ever new, so whether you prefer the hymns and organ or praise choruses with guitars, there is a place for you here.

Musicians

Vocalists and instrumentalists (classical and contemporary) are needed to assist in leading worship in our Sunday morning services. If you sing or play an instrument--ANY instrument--proficiently, there may well be a place for you, either in our main Sunday services or assisting in other ministries.

Most Sunday morning worship participants are scheduled once a month. Scores and audio samples are distributed via email during the week before each service.

From Labor Day to Memorial Day, rehearsals are Sunday mornings at 7:30 a.m., followed by two morning services at 8:30 and 11:00am. Summer rehearsals are at 8:15 a.m. followed by morning worship at 9:30.

The Chamber Singers

The Chamber Singers is a mixed choir of more experienced singers that meets weekly from September through May, offering classic and modern choral selections regularly throughout the year. The Chamber Singers meet on Wednesday evenings from 7 - 8:30 p.m.

Basic music-reading ability is required.

Children's Opportunity

Our children are engaged in singing during children's homily during 8:30 a.m. worship on Sunday mornings from September-May and during 9:30 a.m. worship on Sunday mornings during the summer. They offer their music to the congregation during the Offertory every couple of months.
