Children's Formation during COVID-19

Through the twists and turns of this COVID season, St. B's Children's Formation continues to prayerfully and purposefully look for ways to provide Biblically-based family resources for you and your family. We hope you are enjoying our weekly Sunday children's homilies, formation lessons and Wednesday story-times, children's bulletins, and various at-home resources.

Formation on Sundays

During COVIDtide, we offer Christian formation for children on Zoom and YouTub e. We know this is not ideal for many families. Please contact Carla Schober, Director of Children Formation, if you have any feedback, questions, or have not received the Zoom link.

  • Catechesis of the good shepherd

    For Children, 3.5 yrs - 2nd Grade

    8:30 - 8:55 a.m. on Sundays

Catechesis of the Good Shepherd is a Montessori-inspired way of sharing Jesus and life in His church with children. It provides a prepared physical space, a period of time, and particular materials that support the relationship that already exists between God and the child.

Families of children 3 yrs. through 2 nd grade are invited to participate in brief, but rich Sunday morning Zoom classes with our Catechists for Level One and Level Two classes. In each "Zoom atrium," we will ponder and explore prayer, the Bible, the geography of Israel, the Messianic prophecies, and the narratives leading up to and including the birth of Jesus.

Families who want to participate in these Zoom communities on Sunday mornings can also sign up to receive a box of art and extension materials for each week.

Parents will receive an email each Monday sharing what we shared on Sunday, things to talk and pray about throughout the week, as well as how to prepare our hearts for the next time we gather.

This Advent look for the following lessons:

Level 1- The Annunciation, The Visitation (of Mary to Elizabeth), The Birth of Jesus, and The Adoration of the Shepherds

Level 2- The Prophecy of the Valleys and Mountains, The Prophecy of the Star and Scepter, The Annunciation, The Visitation (of Mary to Elizabeth).

For the safety of our children, the Zoom link is emailed directly to families the week prior. If you do not receive this email, please contact Meredith Flynn at catechesis@stbs.net

  • Advent with the jesus storybook bible

    For Children, 3rd - 6th Grade

    Sunday, 8:50 a.m. on YouTube

This Advent, our 3rd - 6th graders are invited to join Mr. Jim on a journey of wonder through The Jesus Storybook Bible as they trace the beautiful story of God’s great love for us–from the very beginnings of the universe, to the birth of the baby who would rescue the whole world. Videos will be posted weekly on YouTube at 8:50 a.m. If you miss a week, email Carla at cschober@stbs.net.
