Celebrating & Farewell

Join us on Fr. Sammy, Renee, Elizabeth, Patrick, and Flannery Wood's last Sunday at St. B's before they move to New York City and begin a new ministry.

Sunday, February 6

At both the 8:30 & 11 a.m. services. Fr. Sammy will preach and celebrate as Rector for the last time. Additional prayers will be used from the Book of Occasional Services, and the wardens will present gifts on behalf of the parish. Canon Jody Howard will be with us from the Diocese of Tennessee.

At 10 a.m., Join us for a festive reception celebrating the Woods outside.

At 5 p.m., Come back at 5 p.m. for our annual Epiphany bonfire. Eat BBQ from the Smokin' Buttz food truck, enjoy s'mores at the firepits, and watch the Christmas trees burn. Our favorite DJ, Steve Mason, will provide music. The evening will conclude with a final blessing from Fr. Sammy as rector and send-off for the Woods around the fire.

Gifts

As is customary in the Episcopal Church and at St. Bartholomew’s, we will bless the Woods with a purse for their continued ministry in New York City. We also have plans for a gift of dedication that will remain here.

Make a contribution to these gifts by Thursday, February 3 online >>>here (please select “Gift for the Wood Family”) or by mailing a check to the church office.

Please note that these donations are not tax-deductible. As has also become tradition, the church office is collecting notes and cards for the Wood family. Drop one off at the church or bring it with you on February 6.
