Pastoral Note, March 2, 2022

Dear Friends,

I am mindful as we start the season of Lent that you may be experiencing a range of emotions. Like the weather at this time of year, we have our rainy days and our sunny days. Between the pandemic, world events, and Fr. Sammy’s departure, we are experiencing a lot. We hope that you will find meaning in the several Lenten offerings listed in this email (Ash Wednesday worship today, Sunday Lenten worship, Sunday book study, weekday Compline, and more).

I am also mindful that our COVID infection rate and other COVID indicators are declining in Davidson County. We are not announcing any changes to our current policies at this time, but we are watching CDC guidance and the COVID Act Now website; we are aware of the mask-optional policy of Metro Nashville Public Schools beginning in mid-March; and we are consulting with several parishioners who are experts in the medical field. We know some of you wish St. B’s to stay the course with masks and others wish for a mask optional policy. While we all seem to be moving in the same direction toward a more relaxed response to COVID, we are moving at different speeds. Thank you for being patient with your staff, one another, and with me during this time.

Faithfully yours,

Serena+
