Father Charlie
serves as Assistant to the Rector at St. Bartholomew's. He attended undergrad at Trevecca where he studied psychology and
religion. Upon graduation, he became a missionary in Ljubljana,
Slovenia where he led formation groups with teenagers and college
students. After his time in Slovenia, Father Charlie received a Masters in
Divinity from the Vanderbilt Divinity School, while also working at Knowledge Quest Community School in South Memphis and
Bethlehem Center of Nashville. After completing his M.Div., Father Charlie
coordinates patient care at the Vanderbilt Medical Center and
was a manager of the Family Reconciliation House for families whose loved ones are incarcerated. Father Charlie
completed a diploma in Anglican Studies at the Virginia Theological
Seminary and was ordained to the priesthood in December 2019. He is thankful to be back home in Tennessee!
A native of
Smyrna, he was a two-time all-state soccer player, and is a lifelong
supporter of Vanderbilt athletics, which he admits was a contributing
factor to his enrollment there for divinity school. In addition to
serving St. Bartholomew’s, Charlie is a chaplain at Episcopal School of
