The purpose of St. B’s Youth Formation is to make space for teenagers within the St. B’s family to learn to love God, themselves, and others in the way of Jesus. Our vision is for every teenager in the St. B’s family to belong here, to be known here, and to know that they are beloved by God and called by God. We move toward this by welcoming the Spirit, studying scripture, worshiping with our liturgy, and playing well together.
UPDATE: We have made changes to our January Events and Programs. Please see this Family Letter for the latest information.
We are thrilled to begin the New Year with y’all in St. B’s Youth Ministry! We will be resuming formation class this month, beginning our confirmation program and hosting some awesome events. Watch the video or scroll down for all the details!
Due to the evolving COVID-19 situation, these events and gathering are subject to church and local guidelines. We will send out text and email communications if an event or gathering is changed and do our best to update the website in a timely manner.

We want to be a community that is bonded by fun and fostered through relationships; therefore, we are making community building and fun cornerstones of who we are as a Youth community.
On Sunday, February 21st at 4:00 pm (and again at 6:30 pm), we will be watching Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope. Come and join us as we cheer on space wizards and feisty pilots in their fight against the Imperial tyranny represented by Grand Moff Tarkin’s razor-sharp cheekbones. Feel free to bring a friend, and sign up here! Can’t wait to see you!
We are excited to host our annual Wednesday with the Woods this February! We are making some modifications to our typical set up by hosting this event in the church’s gym, with social distancing, and not serving dinner (please eat before you come). Middle Schoolers are invited to join us on February 3th and High Schoolers are invited to join us on February 10th. Sign up here.
We want to be a community who love Christ, discuss the hard questions together, and actively participate in the life of the Church, in order to be formed into mature Christians. Sunday Morning Formation, service opportunities, and other times of study are critical parts of this formation.
Information for Spring Formation to come soon!
We want to be a community who offers opportunities for students to be confirmed.
Our confirmation program officially begins on Sunday, January 10th at 12:30 pm. Weekly meetings led by Fr. Sammy and Alysha will run through the end of February, preparing participants to be confirmed in their faith in the tradition of the Episcopal Church. This program utilizes a discussion based classroom model, offering a meaningful spiritual experience for youth to explore their baptismal vows and get a greater understanding of what it is like to be a part of the Church. If you are interested in participating in confirmation and haven’t signed up, please contact Alysha ASAP (firstname.lastname@example.org).
Our formation experience is guided by weekly adult mentors and youth sponsors. Our weekly youth adult mentors serve on Sunday mornings during our formation hour, join us for fun events, and help mentor our youth. Youth sponsors are our “gap fillers” who join us when our regularly scheduled leaders can’t be at fun events or joining us on Sunday mornings. Both roles are vitally important to the flourishing of our youth program.
All staff and volunteers with children are required to have a background inquiry investigation conducted by the Diocese and the State of Tennessee. They are also required to complete Safeguarding God's Children.
