Sudanese Ministry

Since June 1996, St. B's has been blessed to have members of Nashville's Sudanese refugee community as part of our fellowship.

The Sudanese Ministry works to promote an effective network of friendship and support for our Sudanese brothers and sisters who are seeking to rebuild their lives.

During the past five years we have been active in sending representatives from St. B's to refugee camps in Africa to help minister to the Sudanese people in cooperation with the Episcopal Church of Sudan. As we move forward, the Sudanese Ministry's focus shifts from Short Term Mission Trips, and St. B's ministry leaders organizing the meeting of specific needs in the Sudanese community, to developing Sudanese leaders to manage the ministry.

The goal of the Sudanese ministry is to enable and empower our local Sudanese Priests, Albino Gur Maror and John Garang Awan, to be community and spiritual leaders. Currently the Sudanese community meets weekly on Sunday mornings at 10:30AM at St. Bartholomew's church for worship service conducted by the Sudanese Priests in the Sudanese language. They also meet at 9:00AM every Sunday in room #116 for a Bible study

Many opportunities exist to serve in this vital ministry. For more information contact Randy Hoover-Dempsey at randyhd@stbs.net or 377-4750 ext 22
